Why is it called John W. Danforth Company when there are no Danforths involved with the company?
True, the Danforths haven’t been associated with the company since 1936. John W. Danforth was the founder, beginning in the steam-heating and ventilating business in 1884. His son ran the business until 1936, when Leo N. Hopkins and Albert C. Wood made a "buyout agreement" with Mr. Danforth's widow. The decision to remain the John W. Danforth Company confirms the pride we have in our past work. We can stand behind all we do. With over 122 years under our belts. We are proud to be called John W. Danforth Company.
What is testing and balancing?
Balancing is coordinating airflow and also the water flow (hydronics) so as to get the most efficient operation of the HVAC system as a whole.
Testing is the use of specialized instruments to measure temperature, pressure, rotational speed, electrical characteristics velocity, and air and water quantities for an evaluation of the equipment and the system performance.
What is building commissioning?
Commissioning is a process that starts at the beginning of the design process and culminates in the inspecting, testing, balancing and verifying that new building systems are operating properly and efficiently. Commissioning can reduce operating costs, maintenance costs, improve the comfort of a building's occupants and extend the life of equipment.
The John W. Danforth Company is a National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) certified commissioning agent. We will provide the building owner with a superior facility by identifying low quality construction items and verification and testing of all systems. NEBB is known worldwide as the premier Test and Balance Organization. NEBB’s commissioning standards are setting the building industry’s benchmark of excellence for the new millennium
