Buildings under construction typically require temporary heat and air conditioning. While the HVAC units are operating during construcion, they are exposed to heavy dust loa
ding from construction activities, and they need to be protected with filtration media in the return air grilles and the outside air intakes. Danforth stocks a wide variety of filter media rolls and pads that can be cut in the field to fit those areas. In addition to protecting the air handling units, this media also protects the inside of the ductwork from dust and debris.

Filtration Media is avaialbe in thicknesses of 1/2", 1" and 2", in roll widths ranging from 20" to 60". This product can be either Fiberglass or Synthetic and is designed to capture particles as small as 3 microns in size. For many LEED, Green Building Construction projects Koch Filters SPT30, MERV 8 media is an excellent choice. SMACNAs guide for Buildings un der construction, recomends using filter media at a minimum of MERV 8 efficiency to protect the duct and air handling equipment from exposure to construction dust. The media can easily to trimmed in the field to fit inside or over return air grilles and air intake louvers.
