Danforth’s presence in Albany has been strengthened by the addition of three offices in the region. The offices are located in Clifton Park, Albany, and Poughkeepsie, New York. The Clifton Park facility serves as a hub for Danforth Project Management, Estimating, Energy Solutions, and has a full pipe fabrication shop at its disposal. We are now better able to cater to the needs of our customers in the Eastern region of the state. The Albany and Poughkeepsie locations were acquired from, Albany based contractor, Tougher Industries. The acquisition was finalized on December 31, 2013.
Before the deal, Danforth and Tougher partnered to fulfill the ducting needs of the Global Foundaries Inc., a major player in the computer-chip manufacturing industry. This led to talks between the two businesses on a possible merger after working together on the chip manufacturing facility in Malta, New York. The acquisition is proving to be beneficial for Danforth and the former Tougher Industries. Tougher brings a solid commercial service customer base in the region and has the capability to produce quality sheet metal work.
