The Danforth Team has won the Martin Division Championship at the Buffalo Sabres Corporate Challenge. The 3 vs 3 tournament was played on February 13, 2014. Danforth has participated in this charity hockey tournament for the past 10 years; earning 2nd place honors the past 5.
The Buffalo Sabres Corporate Hockey Challenge is a 16-team, 3-on-3 hockey tournament held annually at First Niagara Center that pairs Sabres Alumni with members of participating companies in a 16-team tournament to raise money for the Buffalo Sabres Foundation.
Danforth rallied around Sabres Alumni Adam Mair as the Team battled against other Western New York Corporate Teams. Danforth went 2-1 in round robin play, defeating Blue Cross Blue Shield and Kaleida. Danforth’s only loss of the day was to Delaware North, the two teams met in the playoffs with Danforth coming out on top in overtime. The championship game was against, former Sabre, Donald Audette and Labatt USA. The Danforth Team ended the day 5-1 and is looking forward to defending the Championship next year.
We are happy to raise money for the Sabres Foundation while having a great day with Sabres Alumni and other local businesses.
