Danforth and JD Supply Team Up to Supply Ready-to-Use Spiral Duct
Published Date – Jul 7, 2014
Danforth now offers prefabricated lengths of spiral duct utilizing a state-of-the-art spiral duct fabrication line located in their 45,000 sq. ft. metal fabrication shop. With this recent addition, the fabrication line is setup to run spiral duct sections with diameters of 4″ to 72″ that can be cut to any specified length. This ensures that customers will be able to expedite final installation by simplifying their labor hours associated with fabricating duct in the field.
Danforth’s approach to custom-built spiral duct is simple. The process starts with the Specialty Metal Team discussing the application with the customer. This involves the submission of initial designs for the ductwork in either a printed copy, rough sketch or submitted to the team via email. The Specialty Metal Division gets right to work building the spiral ducting solution. This step renders the initial designs in CADD software and maps it to the spiral duct machine.
Once the solution has been mapped out, the spiral duct machine starts turning out finished sections of spiral ductwork. This step also includes fabrication of any fittings and gasketing /sealing required to provide a complete end-to-end solution. Once the fabrication of the spiral duct solution has been completed, the product is sent to JD Supply for pick-up. If any additional materials such as sheet metal screws, duct hanger or tools to assemble the duct are needed, all of these are available for purchase in the store.
