Giving Thanks To Jumpstart The Holiday Season

John W. Danforth Company (Danforth) participated in numerous donations during the Thanksgiving season this year.

Our community campaigns included four different offices contributing to four separate services.

The Eastern New York Office put together Thanksgiving Baskets for CAPTAIN Community Human Services.

They collected nonperishable food items, which included all items needed for a Thanksgiving meal.

The baskets were provided to CAPTAIN Community Human Services of Saratoga County which is a volunteer-driven nonprofit, helping young people and their families navigate the rough waters of poverty, substance abuse, homelessness, violence, academic challenges, family dysfunction, human trafficking, and more.

The Buffalo Office held a Thanksgiving Food Drive, in conjunction with a new partnership with FeedMore WNY. The Buffalo team donated a number of non-perishable food items including pasta, sauce, canned meat, fruits and vegetables.

FeedMore WNY is an organization that was born from the healthy merger of the Food Bank of WNY and Meals on Wheels for Western New York. For many years, the two groups worked in tandem with a singular vision of ending hunger in our community.

FeedMore WNY assists community members of all ages throughout Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties.

The Rochester Office put together Thanksgiving Baskets for the Canandaigua VA, donating items for an entire Thanksgiving Dinner for two families.

The Syracuse Office collected hygiene items to put together a “care package” for the United Way of Central New York.
