Position Summary:

We are looking for a Safety Professional that contributes to the development of proactive policies, practices, and procedures, allowing Danforth to achieve the highest standard of jobsite safety. The Safety Professional provides a safe work environment for all Danforth employees and is responsible for decreasing the number of incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist project management in assessing the effectiveness of safety and health programs and provide recommendations for maintaining/improving their effectiveness
• Provide guidance to foreman and field employees so that they understand the safety and health programs and how to implement them
• Assist foreman with the identification and evaluation of high risk hazards and development of measures for their control
• Maintain a working knowledge of federal, state and local regulatory rules
• Maintain relationships with appropriate regulatory agencies
• Maintains a relationship with customer project and safety management
• Provide field employees with appropriate safety training appropriate for the associated job hazards
• Keeps employees advised about relative safety issues and needs of safety matters
• Represent the organization in safety and health interests outside their operations within the community and by active participation in professional societies and specific trade associations and groups

Qualifications & Training:

• CHST or CSP designation preferred
• Authorized OSHA 500 Construction Outreach Instructor preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly verbally and in writing
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to make quick effective decisions
• PC skills with experience in Microsoft office products such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
• 5 years of experience in the EHS field
• Construction experience preferred
