Danforth LEED/Green Building Certification Expertise
LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a methodology of construction that strives to keep the environmental impact of a building to a minimum. This method is changing the way engineering and construction firms such as Danforth plan, design, construct, maintain, and operate buildings. A LEED certified building must meet rigorous standards in order to qualify. The entire life cycle of the building from design to operation is taken into consideration by the program.
LEED Certification is important for both the building owner and the community as well. Green Buildings benefit building owners by lowering operating costs, increasing the value of the building, and providing a healthier work environment for occupants. These buildings benefit the environment by conserving energy, water, and other shared resources. Additionally, LEED Certified Buildings often qualify for monetary incentives such as tax rebates and zoning allowances.
Danforth has several in-house LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED AP) capable of handling design and planning as well as construction management to deliver a certified, turn-key project. As a company, we strongly support LEED initiatives and have been an integral part of numerous LEED projects in both the private and public sector that includes one of our branch offices.
