Laser scanning allows Danforth to accurately acquire millions of real-world data points and removes the need for traditional field hand measurement documentation, reducing jobsite survey time by up to 80%. These data points are compiled and stitched together to create a 3D model that can be navigated and used for 3D coordination with the client, project phasing, inspection requirements, and as-built documentation.

We can provide laser scanning services with point cloud data deliverables for most any project or building. We have performed 3D scans for a large variety of project types including commercial and industrial buildings, new construction, documentation of existing conditions, as-built documentation, construction progress documentation, structural steel verification and historical documentation.

We have successfully used laser scanning on existing buildings and renovation projects, allowing us to produce fully coordinated BIM models. We then have the ability to utilize these coordinated models in the creation of drawings and sketches for our piping and sheet metal fabrication shops. These models allow everyone involved in the coordination, fabrication, and installation of the mechanical systems to better collaborate and ensure the proper pieces and equipment are being installed in the field.
