The Danforth Team was the installer of this extensive system that included all the necessary infrastructure piping for the new Kidney Care Center and long-term care facility. Danforth was also responsible for a build out in the Kidney Care Center consisting of offices, exam rooms, and dialysis areas, as well as the construction of a 300’ Axial Corridor connecting the Kidney Care Center to the hospital.

In this project, Danforth also made upgrades to the HVAC system at the existing hospital, including a new 2^nd floor Mechanical Room AHU and supply and return ductwork systems that ran from the 2^nd to the 10^th floor.

The project was not without its challenges, however. For example, the structural steel and roofing systems were put up on the Kidney Care Center before the 6 AHU’s arrived, and because of this we could not set these in place with a crane. To remedy this, we drifted the multi section AHU’s through sidewall of the penthouse and rolled them into place, which required precise coordination and sequencing from our team. Despite these challenges, the project was still completed on time, allowing for early occupancy and revenue for the owner.
