The expansion now houses a 90,000 sq. ft. semiconductor manufacturing facility capable of handling 300nm and 200nm semiconductors. In order to meet the strict requirements for the purity levels in the facility, Danforth utilized full CAD/BIM services to meet stringent fabrication tolerances.

For the successful execution of this project, Danforth was recognized as the Subcontractor of the Year for this project by Turner Construction. Turner Mechanical Project Manager, Robert Brown stated:

The Danforth Company was Turner’s choice for Overall Subcontractor of the Year for a number of reasons. In twelve months, over $24 million worth of sheet metal work (excluding equipment) was installed in an existing 600,000 SF building fit out project at GlobalFoundries used to manufacture computer wafers.

The Danforth Company kept pace with an extremely aggressive schedule in a building with very limited access and multiple trades and multiple contractors. Their experienced computer aided drafting team created the footprint for the BIM process that was used to coordinate their work with the miles of mechanical and process pipes for this class 100 clean room manufacturing facility.
