The Danforth team designed and built a new chilled water plant for the hospital to meet an increasing demand for chilled water.   A new 2500 ton chiller was piped in parallel with the two existing 500 ton chillers to service critical areas of the hospital.  A new cooling tower, pumps, and control system were installed to improve efficiency and satisfy demand.

A penthouse was also installed to house the new chiller, pumps and a future emergency generator.  Three new high efficiency cooling towers were installed on the roof and variable speed drives (VSD’s) were installed on all appropriate fan and pump motors.  Heat exchangers were also installed to provide chilled water supply source flexibility.
