Danforth was awarded the sheet metal subcontract for the vertical expansion of the Upstate University Hospital located in Syracuse, NY. Our team was a subcontractor to North Central Mechanical for this project. Danforth’s sheet metal fabrication facility produced the air duct for the project. Our CADD department also contributed its expertise to produce coordination drawings.

Danforth’s cohesive team was able to efficiently install the galvanized, aluminum and stainless steel ductwork. The scope also included furnishing and installation of air duct liner, fire and smoke dampers, volume dampers, and round gravity dampers. Additionally, cast iron exhaust fans, VAV boxes with reheat coils, and sound attenuators were installed. Phoenix air valves and High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) diffusers were included in the scope. Finally, a high-efficiency boiler and an emergency standby generator were installed to complete the work.

results

Upon completion, Danforth performed air duct aseptics and system testing to verify that the systems were operating as designed. Project operating and maintenance manuals were turned over to the owner, leading to a successful project.
